The Central Government has taken a big decision regarding the expansion of Delhi Metro. The expansion of Delhi Metro Phase-5 (A) has been approved in the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A budget of Rs 12,015 crore has been fixed for this project, which will further improve the public transport system of Delhi.

What is Phase-5 (A) Project of Delhi Metro?
The objective of this expansion plan is to connect remote areas of Delhi with the metro network and reduce congestion on the roads. The total cost of this project is Rs 12,015 crore. This will increase the metro line by a total of 16 kilometers and will add 13 stations, of which 10 will be underground and three will be elevated.
Infrastructure will get a boost
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday welcomed the Union Cabinet’s approval for three new corridors for the Delhi Metro and said the decision will give a big boost to the capital’s infrastructure. Welcoming this decision, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed happiness on the social media platform ‘X’.

What did PM Modi say?
Regarding this, PM Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, ‘Delhi’s infrastructure got a big boost! “The Cabinet’s approval for three new corridors under Phase 5(A) of Delhi Metro project will expand the metro network of our capital, thereby enhancing ‘ease of living’ and reducing congestion.”
