A 39 -year -old man allegedly raped his mother after returning from a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia in Hauz Kazi area of Central Delhi. According to the police, the complainant along with his 25 -year -old daughter reached Hauz Qazi police station and alleged that his son, who was identified as Mohammad Feroz alias Suhail, assaulted her and sexually abused her on several occasions this month.
A senior police officer said that the woman said that she had gone to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage with her 72 -year -old husband and daughter on 25 July. During the visit, her son allegedly called her husband and accused her of ‘bad character’ and asked her father to return to Delhi and divorce her immediately.
On 1 August, after returning to the family home, the accused allegedly assaulted his mother and tried to attack her again the next day. The complainant told the police that for fear of her safety, she went to live in her elder daughter’s in -laws’ house for some time.
The official said that he alleged that when she returned home at around 9:30 pm on August 11, her son insisted on talking to her alone. Then he locked her in a room. Threatened with knives and scissors and allegedly raped her.
Police said that in fear and shame, he did not immediately say anything about the incident and started sleeping in the same room with his daughter. But at around 3:30 am on August 14, the accused allegedly repeated the same action, after which the woman gathered courage and contacted the police.
The official said that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of BNS and investigation has been started. The accused is a graduate, but currently unemployed, while the complainant is a housewife. Her husband is a retired government employee.
