Delhi: Connaught Place, ‘Mist Sprayer’ will be put on electric poles in Khan Market, solution to stop dust

Connaught Place and Khan Market are among the major places in Delhi where the government will soon put ‘Mist Sprayer’ on electric poles under a phased project to deal with dust pollution. In this regard, an official said that under this initiative 24 roads and many other areas will be covered. It will cost more than Rs 19 crore and will be implemented in three phases.

Misting system will be installed on 10 major roads

An official said that the objective of this initiative is to reduce the impact of dust pollution in the national capital. According to the official, under the first phase of the project, the government’s body agency is planning to install ‘Misting System’ to deal with dust on 10 major roads including Barakhamba Road, Ferozeshah Road, Sikandra Road and Bhagwan Das Road.

These routes are included in the first phase

The longest routes under the first phase include Temple Marg, Tilak Marg and Subramaniam Bharti Marg. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “This expansion will be completed before the start of winter in the next three-four months.”

Second phase includes 14 additional roads

Along with this, he said, “Following the instructions of the Supreme Court, the government is making every effort to reduce poisonous air pollution for the residents in the national capital. We have also directed that all identified ‘hotspots’ (important places) be worked out. ”The second phase of the project will include 14 additional roads including Shahjahan Road, Aurobindo Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent and Ashok Road.

Water spraying occurs under a mistress system

Under the ‘Misting System’, a fine spray of water is sprayed through ‘nozzle’, which makes the surrounding air cold. The dust present in it is suppressed. This improves temperature and improves better air quality.
