A total of 15 people have been arrested so far in Assam for posting objectionable posts on social media after the Delhi blast. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma gave this information on Thursday. Nine more people were arrested on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, news of the arrest of six people had come to light.
CM Sarma said that new arrests were made after Wednesday night. “So far, 15 people have been arrested across Assam in connection with objectionable social media posts after the Delhi blasts,” Sarma said in a post on Twitter. He said, “Apart from the six arrests made on Wednesday, Rafizul Ali (Bongaigaon), Farid Uddin Lashkar (Hailakandi), Enamul Islam (Lakhimpur), Firuz Ahmed alias Papon (Lakhimpur), Shahil Shoman Sikdar alias Shahidul Islam (Barpeta), Rakibul Sultan (Barpeta), Naseem Akbar (Hosai), Tasleem Ahmed (Kamrup) and Abdur Rahim were arrested overnight. Mollah alias Bappi Hussain (South Salmara) has been arrested.”
