Jammu and Kashmir Police, which is searching for clues about the blast near Red Fort in Delhi, has detained Dr. Asmat Shakeel, sister of Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ghani. Asmat Shakeel (30 years) completed his MBBS from Bangladesh in January 2025. His father’s name is Shakeel Ah Ganai, who is a resident of Pulwama. Dr Muzammil has already been arrested in Jaish-e-Mohammed and AGUH terrorist module.
Was there a conspiracy to attack on January 26?
In connection with the investigation of the Delhi car blast, the police examined the mobile phone data of Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ghani, which revealed that he had reconnoitered the Red Fort area several times in January this year. Police also suspect that he had planned to target the historical monument Red Fort on January 26, but his planning failed due to intensive patrolling in the area at that time.
Terror module spread in many states busted
Hours after the busting of a terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind and the arrest of 8 people, including three doctors, a blast took place in a moving car near the Red Fort area of Delhi. 12 people died and many others were injured in this blast. Police busted the terror module spread across Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and seized about 2,500 kg of ammonium nitrate, potassium chlorate and sulphur.
Dr. Muzammil along with his colleague Dr. Umar Nabi visited the Red Fort several times to ascertain the security arrangements and crowded areas. Their activities have been confirmed through tower location data and CCTV footage collected from surrounding areas. The car that exploded near the Red Fort was being driven by Dr. Omar Nabi, who was an assistant professor at Al-Falah University.
