Azadpur Mandi: Big news has come out from Asia’s biggest fruit and vegetable market Azadpur Mandi. Mandi has decided to completely eliminate the business of apples with the Turkas. Mandi president Meetha Ram Kripalani made this important announcement and said that no new order of apples will be made from Turkis.

He said, “We have now decided to close the Turki apple business completely. We have supported the Turki. In the year 2024, 1,16,000 tonnes of apples were ordered to India, but still the Turkas did this with India. Now only those apples will come but no new imports will be made after that.”

New order will not be given

Kripalani said that the Turki was always given priority by Azadpur Mandi, but recently there has been a lot of disappointment with the stance adopted by Turki towards India. He said, “We supported the Turkas for years, but now their behavior has hurt us a lot. For this reason we have decided that neither apple nor any other fruit or vegetable will be sourced from Turki in future.”

This decision is not only important from a commercial point of view, but it also shows the tussle in the India-Turkio business relations. This step of Azadpur Mandi can also affect the fruit-vegetable supply chain across the country, especially on traders who depended on imports from Turkas. However, the mandi administration has also clarified that apples and other fruits will continue to be imported from other countries, so that the demand in the country will continue to be met.

Let us know that although military conflict was postponed between India and Pakistan, this decision has been taken in view of the Turki’s stand in India’s military struggle against Pakistan.
