Deal made between Apple and Starlink
You can get Starlink satellite internet connectivity in Apple’s upcoming iPhone. iPhone users will be able to access calling and internet services even without network. According to the emerging reports, a big deal regarding this is going to be finalized soon between Apple and Elon Musk’s company Starlink. Currently, Apple’s iPhones provide satellite service through Globalstar, which is available only in some selected countries.
Calling will happen without network
Starlink’s satellite service has reached more than 100 countries in the world. Soon, Starlink satellite service is going to start in India also. The company can offer satellite connectivity in the iPhone 18 series, which will be based on Starlink satellite. Users will be able to make SOS i.e. emergency calls without network. A portal named The Information has reported that the iPhone 18 series to be launched in 2026 will have Starlink satellite connectivity instead of Globalstar.
Elon Musk’s company Starlink has tested direct-to-mobile service in partnership with America’s leading telecom operator T-Mobile. If this deal is made between Apple and Starlink, then both Apple and Starlink will benefit from it. Globalstar’s satellite service is limited to select countries in America and Europe, due to which the satellite connectivity service available in iPhone is not widely available to the users. Starlink’s service is available in more than 100 countries, due to which iPhone users will benefit widely.
Talking about iPhone 18 series, this upcoming series of Apple will be launched with many new features next year. Apart from this, Apple can also launch its first foldable phone next year. Users have been waiting for Apple’s first foldable phone for a long time. The company is working on its foldable device since 2022.
