CM Yogi Adityanath Clear Instructions PWD Proposals Received from All 75 District 18 Major Schemes

Up news: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday held a high -level review meeting regarding the implementation of major schemes of the Public Works Department and the upcoming strategy. In this meeting, along with senior officers of the department, all the District Magistrates of the state, the public representatives of various assembly and the concerned departmental officers attended the virtual medium.

In the beginning of this meeting, the Chief Minister gave clear instructions that under the main 18 schemes of the Public Works Department, proposals should be obtained by June 30 from all 75 districts of the state. He said that the District Magistrates should prepare a proposal as per the local need and send it within the stipulated time, while coordinating with the local public representatives. The Chief Minister said that the benefit of development should not be ensured on the basis of local requirement, not political area.

Keeping the concept of inclusive development at the center, the Chief Minister directed that all 403 assembly constituencies must get direct benefits of at least 2-3 schemes. He also said that the land worship or foundation stone of development works should be done through local public representatives, so that the spirit of public participation in development is empowered.

Giving important instructions towards connecting religious tourism with economic empowerment, the Chief Minister said that every year the top-50 religious places of the state should be selected on the basis of its historicity, importance and number of devotees and priority should be given to the construction and strengthening of the routes connecting these places. He said that better connectivity of religious places not only enrich cultural experience, but also encourages the local economy.

The Chief Minister expressed the need to look at the connectivity of the state roads from an integrated point of view. He said that Purvanchal, Agra, Yamuna, Bundelkhand and the Ganga Expressway under construction have given a new dimension to the connectivity of the East-West. Now the time has come that the structure connecting the districts of North and South should also be prepared, which gives a new direction to the internal speed and harmony of the state.

No pits should be seen on any route

Giving special emphasis on the quality, repair and security of roads, he instructed that no pit should be seen on any route of the state. He said that overspeeding and broken roads are the main reasons for road accidents, so all dark spots should be identified and table top speed breakers should be made as required.

Underlining the need to adopt a special strategy for areas affected by floods and excess rainfall, the Chief Minister said that small bridges and roads are often damaged due to waterlogging. In such a situation, proposals should be prepared in advance on the basis of forecast, so that work can be started as soon as the rain is reduced.

Review the progress of tasks on weekly basis

The Chief Minister directed the District Magistrates to nominate a nodal officer in each district to review the progress of works on a weekly basis to ensure the timeliness and quality of development works. He also asked to ensure that the presence of public representatives in monthly and bi -monthly review meetings should be mandatory.

The Chief Minister gave clear instructions that the suspect or tainted contractors should be identified and action should be taken as per the requirement. He said that the pace of development can be durable and public confidence based only when honesty, transparency and public participation are ensured.
