Karan Johar’s film ‘Homebound’ made headlines in Cannes 2025. The film received a 9 -minute standing ovation. Now the cinematographer of this film Prateek Shah has been accused of sexual misconduct. After the allegation of Prateek Shah, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has released an official statement with him.

The statement said that Prateek worked with him for limited time and during that time he did not receive any complaint against Prateek from any artist or crew member working on the film.

Homebound is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and Karan Johar is the producer of the film.

The official statement on behalf of Dharma Productions said- ‘Dharma Productions has a policy of zero tolerance with misbehavior or sexual haresment with any person working with us and we take the case of sexual harassment very seriously. Prateek Shah was a freelancer in the homebound project and worked in the film for the limited period. His association with us has been completed. During this limited time, our internal posh committee did not receive any complaint against them from any cast and crew of the film Homebound.

On May 31, filmmaker Hansal Mehta also wrote on his X handle that ‘there should be a thorough investigation of the violent behavior of men sitting in power positions’. He wrote without naming someone in his tweet, ‘Abuse thrives in silence. It thrives in fear. ‘

What is the whole matter?

On 29 May, an independent filmmaker Abhinav Singh wrote a long note against Prateek Shah on Instagram handle. In his story, he called Prateik a manipulative and emotionally abusive. Abhinav claims that when he posted on Instagram, after that about 20 girls contacted him and made serious allegations about Prateek. When the matter increased, Prateek deleted or activated his social media.

Prateek has also worked on projects like Jubilee and Control.

After Abhinav, writer Srishti Riya Jain also shared Insta Story and accused Prateek Shah. Riya said that Prateek has been sending wrong messages to him for the last four years.
