The recently opened Hongchi Bridge in China’s Sichuan province partially collapsed. The video of the accident is going viral on social media. This bridge was built on the National Highway and its length is about 758 meters.

Cracks appeared on the hill slopes and roads around the bridge on Monday afternoon. When the mountain ground started slipping, the administration immediately closed the bridge due to safety reasons. The situation worsened on Tuesday afternoon. A part of the bridge broke and collapsed after a huge amount of soil slipped from the hill.

No injuries or deaths have been reported so far. In the video, a cloud of dust is seen rising and the pillars of the bridge are seen breaking and falling into the stones and river below.

This bridge was completed this year. It was built on the national highway connecting the plains of China with Tibet and was opened for traffic on September 28. The height of the bridge is said to be approximately 625 meters above the valley floor.

French President Macron’s warning to Israel; Occupation of West Bank described as ‘red line’

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that if Israel tries to occupy any part of the West Bank, it would be a ‘red line’ for France and European countries. He warned that in such a situation the European countries would come together and give a strong response.

He also said that the expansion of Jewish settlements and violence by radical settlers is increasing in the West Bank. Due to this, both the stability and peace there are in danger. This is also a violation of international law.

After recognizing the State of Palestine in September, this statement of Macron is being considered an important signal in the diplomacy of Europe and the Middle East.

Mahmoud Abbas, 89, heads the Palestinian Authority, which administers parts of the West Bank. In the latest peace proposals, it is being expressed that in future Abbas or his authority may also be given the responsibility of Gaza administration.
