America has warned India about China’s dual strategy. According to the Pentagon’s 2025 report, on one hand China is trying to reduce tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with India, while on the other hand it is increasing military cooperation with Pakistan.
The report said that in October 2024, India and China had agreed to withdraw from the remaining conflict areas on the LAC. However, the Pentagon assesses that China’s objective is to prevent India from getting closer to America by normalizing relations with India.
It has been said in the report that there is still a lack of trust between India and China. The dispute regarding Arunachal Pradesh is a big issue between the two.
China has been claiming Arunachal as its share, which is a direct challenge to India’s sovereignty. Beijing gives equal importance to the issue of Arunachal as that of Taiwan and South China Sea.
China is continuously providing arms to Pakistan
The Pentagon has expressed concern over China’s increasing military role in Pakistan. According to the report, China has given 36 J-10C fighter aircraft to Pakistan since 2020.
Apart from this, both the countries are jointly making JF-17 fighter jet. Pakistan is also getting Chinese drones and naval equipment.
China and Pakistan also held joint anti-terrorism military exercises in December 2024. The report also says that in future, Chinese military bases may be built in Pakistan, which will increase China’s presence near India’s borders.
According to the report, China’s Western Theater Command, which oversees the front with India, conducted special military exercises in high altitude areas in 2024.

China wants to build military base in Bangladesh
