Three teams deployed for high altitude rescue
In view of the avalanche at Chamoli Mana, three high -elite rescue teams were issued an alert from SDRF headquarters Jollygrant in Jolly Grant, Sahasradhara and Gochar. As soon as the weather was cleared, the teams flew with rescue equipment from helicopter. Two teams of eight each in Gochar and Sahasradhara and a team of ten people of the battalion have been deployed at Jolly Grant Headquarters. These teams have been deployed with the equipment required for satellite phones and ice rescue. At the same time an alert was issued in SDRF. If the injured are brought to AIIMS Rishikesh, Dhalwala’s team has been kept on alert for this. Director General of Police Ridhim Aggarwal said that three teams were deployed with necessary equipment for the High Altitude Rescue. The teams left for the scene when the weather was cured. There was a huge avalanche near the Mana Camp in the Indo-China (Tibet) border area on Friday amid snowfall in the high altitude areas of Uttarakhand. Till 5 pm on Friday evening, 33 laborers were evacuated by army and ITBP personnel, while 22 laborers could not be detected. They were searched till late evening, but after this, the rescue operation had to be stopped due to strong snowfall and eight feet of snow in the area. The rescue campaign has been started again on Saturday morning when the weather is clear.
