During the celebration of victory in the Block Committee elections in Bachittar Nagar area of Gill Road, Ludhiana, Punjab, the atmosphere went out of control when a violent clash broke out between workers of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress. Both the groups first pelted stones at each other and then the Congress workers started firing. Surprisingly, women and children were also present outside when the Congress worker opened fire.
This incident happened when AAP workers were taking out a thanksgiving rally. In this incident, five people were injured by bullets and stones. The condition of 4 of them is said to be critical. The injured have been identified as Gurmukh Singh (65), Ravindra Singh (44), Gurdeep Singh (32), Udamveer Singh (25) and Mandeep Singh (36). Everyone was immediately admitted to the hospital.
Injured Ravindra Singh told that he was taking out a thanksgiving rally to celebrate AAP’s victory. Meanwhile, Congress leader Jasbir Singh allegedly started abusing, after which a clash broke out. It is alleged that after this the Congress workers first started pelting stones and then started firing directly. It is alleged that 15 to 20 rounds of bullets were fired. Many people were shot in the legs.
AAP leader Jatinderpal Singh Gabaria said that AAP candidates Sonu Gill and Sumit Singh Khanna were victorious from Bachittar Nagar in the Block Committee and Zilla Parishad elections. A thanksgiving rally was being taken out after the victory, when Congress leader Jasbir Singh and his associates opened fire. It was also said that the accused had fled from the spot. Injured Gurmukh Singh told that the Congress leader, upset with the defeat, along with his comrades opened fire. Meanwhile, AAP worker Narinder Singh alleged that the accused first pelted bricks and stones and then fired with pistols. Gurdeep Singh said that the bullet touched his leg and went out, it was fortunate that no child got hit.
As soon as information about firing was received, senior police officers and Sadar Police reached the spot. Within no time the entire area was converted into a police cantonment. Police talked to people and also recorded statements of many people. At the same time, angry people have also staged a protest demanding the arrest of the accused. Police say that the matter is being thoroughly investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

At the forefront among the Aam Aadmi Party workers is a person in the style of Nihang Singh with a sword in his hand. Both the groups are seen continuously threatening each other. Bricks, stones and sticks are seen in the hands of people of both the groups. When AAP supporters came closer, the first bricks were pelted by Congress workers. After this, Aam Aadmi Party workers also pelted bricks. AAP workers chased away the Congressmen by pelting them with bricks. Then suddenly the sound of gunfire started coming. A person wearing a cream colored jacket opened fire directly at the Aam Aadmi Party workers. AAP workers did videography of the person firing. Suddenly in the firing a bullet hit elderly Gurmukh Singh who fell on the ground. The one who was firing is said to be Congress leader Jasbir Singh. After the old man was shot, a woman was seen dragging him away. The sound of firing was heard 3 to 4 times in this video.
