The central government on Thursday called a meeting of leaders of all political parties before the budget session of Parliament. The session will begin on Friday with the President’s address in the joint meeting of both the houses and the budget will be presented on February 1. The first phase of the session will end on 13 February and the second phase will begin on 10 March. The session will end on April 4. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh presided over this meeting.

The meeting is called to political parties to tell about the legislative agenda of the government and to get information on opposition issues during the session. The meeting was attended by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President and Union Minister JP Nadda, Congress’s Gaurav Gogoi and Jairam Ramesh, T.R. Several leaders including Balu, Sudeep Bandyopadhyay of Trinamool Congress and Derek O Bryan participated. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Reijiju also attended the meeting.
