Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel wished stability and prosperity in the country on Thursday (October 02, 2025) on the occasion of Vijayadashami. Vijayadashami is the 10th day of the Bada Dashain festival, which is celebrated with enthusiasm in the Himalayan nation.
Sources in the President’s Office said that according to tradition, President Paudel was vaccinated by priests- Arjun Adhiri and Devraj Aryal on the auspicious time at 11:53 am on the occasion of Vijayadashami. However, in view of the recent political upheaval in the country, Paudel and Prime Minister Sushila Karki also did not vaccinate citizens on the occasion of Bada Dashai festival this year.
President Paudel’s message to the public
Information Officer of the President’s Office Archana Khadka said that no commentary ceremony will be organized by the President in view of the recent situation of the country. In the past, the President traditionally vaccinated the general public on this occasion.
Paudel said in his message, ‘On the day of Vijayadashami, a symbol of the victory of truth, religion and justice, we receive blessings, vaccines and deposits from the respected elders. I pray to Goddess Durga for harmony, goodwill and welfare all over the country.
Why is the commentary from the elders?
In Nepal, getting sindoor vaccine with elders is considered a symbol of the victory of good over evil and good over evil. After Ghatasthapana, the vaccine is prepared from the offerings given in the puja performed for nine days. Recently, after the violent protests of ‘Jane Z’, a big festival is being celebrated for the first time in Nepal. There was a change of power in the country due to demonstrations.
On September 8, at least 19 protesters were killed in a police firing. P. Sharma Oli had to step down due to ‘GEN-Z’ performance. ‘Gen-Z’ is called a generation that was born between 1997 and 2012.
Decision in honor of victims of protests
Due to the continuation of violence, the total number of people who died during the two -day demonstration against the Oli government over the ban on corruption and social media reached 75. Karki was sworn in as Prime Minister of the interim government on 12 September.
The Prime Minister’s Office said that Karki has announced that she will not participate in the traditional tradition of obtaining commentary and deposits. The statement said that this decision was taken in honor of the victims of the recently held ‘Gen-Z’ protests.
