Russian President Putin called 1.60 lakh youth between 18 and 30 years to join the army

A few months ago, Putin had said that Russia should increase the size of its military to 23.9 lakh and the number of active servicemen should be 15 lakh. There is a plan to increase 1 lakh 80 thousand soldiers in the army in the next three years.
Russia’s Vice Admiral Vladimir Timiansky said the newly recruited soldiers will not be sent for a special military operation in Ukraine. However, some reports claimed that new soldiers admitted earlier were sent to Ukraine in the early months of the war and were killed in a fight on the Russian border.
This recruitment of new soldiers is to be held between April and July. This is happening at a time when the ceasefire efforts are being made by America. Russia recruits military recruitment every year during spring and autumn season. Last year, 1.50 lakh youth were currently called for recruitment. This year 10 thousand more youth have been called.
