Russian President Vladimir Putin is coming to India on 4-5 December. The biggest news in this tour is going to be about BrahMos missile. India and Russia will jointly talk about making a new version of BrahMos with lighter and longer range. After the devastation caused by BrahMos on Pakistan in Operation Sindoor (May 2025), the Army felt that now more powerful BrahMos is needed.

What will be the new versions of BrahMos?
- BrahMos-NG (Next Generation).
- Very light (half weight).
- Small size, hence can be fitted on every fighter jet – Rafale, Sukhoi-30, Tejas, all.

- Range more than 400 km
- 6-7 missiles can be fitted on one jet (currently only 1-2)

- The new version will hit 900-1,500 km.

- Speed: 6174 to 14818 km/hr.

BrahMos created havoc in Operation Sindoor
In May 2025, when Pakistan provoked, the Indian Air Force fired BrahMos from Sukhoi-30. 8 airbases, radars and command centers of Pakistan were destroyed. No missile defense of Pakistan was of any use. The world saw that BrahMos is the most dangerous cruise missile in the world. After this the army said – Now we need something lighter and with more range.

- Now 70% of the parts are made in India.

New deal for S-400 almost confirmed
The deal for 280 and S-400 missiles may also be finalized during Putin’s visit. In Operation Sindoor, S-400 shot down Pakistan’s J-10C jets and missiles in the sky. Now the fifth regiment will also come soon.
