PM mentions RSS in ‘Mann Ki Baat’

Addressing the country at the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, Prime Minister Modi appreciated the ‘unprecedented and inspirational’ journey of RSS and its founder Hedgewar. PM Modi himself has been associated with RSS first. He said that when the RSS was established 100 years ago, India was stuck in the chains of slavery.

He said, ‘The slavery of centuries had hurt our self-respect and self-confidence deeply. The world’s oldest civilization was going through a crisis of identity. Our citizens were falling prey to inferiority complex. At such a time, revered Hedgewar ji established the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1925 on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami. After the death of Hedgewar ji, Guruji carried forward this great service work.
