The ongoing dispute over royalty in Jaisalmer took violent form. Bhavani Singh Bhati, son of BJP MLA Chhotu Singh Bhati, was attacked by people associated with the royalty contractor, causing serious injuries to him. During this time his Fortuner car was vandalized and the royalty block was also set on fire. How did the controversy start?
The incident took place on Thursday morning, when people of the royalty contractor stopped trucks filled with stones and demanded royalty at Kahla Fanta on Sama Road in Sadar area. The truck drivers opposed this and informed the MLA’s younger brother Nakhat Singh. As soon as the information was received, Nakhat Singh, MLA’s son Bhavani Singh and his associates reached the spot. There was already a tension between the contractors union and royalty contractors about royalty, which turned into violence this time. Sticks attacked with sticks, fire on the block
MLA’s son Bhavani Singh Bhati said that when they reached for talks, people from the royalty contractor side suddenly started quarreling. He attacked with sticks and swords, causing Bhavani Singh seriously injured. After this, the attackers also targeted his Fortuner car and vandalized it. Not only this, during the clash, the royalty block was also set on fire, causing chaos in the entire area. After the incident, Bhavani Singh and other injured were taken to the government hospital in Jaisalmer, where they are undergoing treatment.

The dispute between the contractors union and royalty contractors regarding royalty is not new. For the past several days, there was a conflict between the two sides. On April 1, the Jaisalmer Contractor Association also submitted a memorandum to District Collector Pratap Singh against royalty contractors.
