Today is the second day of Bihar Assembly session. Today Prem Kumar took charge of the post of president. He had filed his nomination on Monday. Apart from him no one else gave nomination. Therefore, Prem Kumar was elected speaker unopposed. Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Sinha, Sanjay Saraogi and Shravan Kumar became the proposers in his election. CM Nitish Kumar, both the Deputy CMs, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and all the MLAs congratulated Prem Kumar on becoming the Speaker.
AIMIM State President Akhtaral Iman congratulated Speaker Prem Kumar. The number of powers is greater so that justice may not be done due to greater numbers. Referring to Premchand’s story Panch Parmeshwar, he said that Panch is like God.
Here, today all eyes are on Janata Dal United MLA Anant Singh. He is in jail. Till now he has not arrived to take oath. Here, Madan Sahni, Jeevesh Mishra, Vinay Bihari and Kedar Singh, who were absent on the first day, took oath today. Vinay Bihari started reading poetry in Bhojpuri before taking oath. When the Protem Speaker interrupted, he said that I have reached here only by singing Bhojpuri songs. After this Jivesh Mishra took oath in Sanskrit.
On the first day, 237 newly elected members took oath. From the rest of the NDA, Anant Singh, Amarendra Pandey, Madan Sahni, Jeevesh Kumar, Kedar Singh and Vinay Bihari did not come to the House. Madan Sahni, Jeevesh Kumar, Vinay Bihari and Kedar Singh could not come to the House due to health reasons. JDU MLA Amarendra Pandey alias Pappu Pandey is getting his nephew Mukesh Pandey treated in Delhi. Protem Speaker Narendra Narayan Yadav himself was administering the oath to the MLAs and hence could not take the oath. He took oath after Prem Kumar took charge.
What did Dr. Prem Kumar say after the nomination?
After filing nomination for the post of Assembly Speaker, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Gaya Town, Dr. Prem Kumar said that the NDA leadership and the party have expressed confidence in me. Following his order I have filed my nomination. I thank everyone. I have reached here after being elected as MLA for the ninth time, hence I also thank the public. I wish all the best to the MLAs who took oath today and those who survived.
These MLAs took oath in Urdu and Maithili
This time MLAs Arun Shankar Prasad, Sujit Paswan, Vinod Narayan Jha, Asif Ahmed, Madhav Anand, Meena Kumari, Nitish Mishra and youngest MLA Maithili Thakur took oath in Maithili language. Maithili Thakur came wearing a saree and pag with Mithila painting. BJP’s Mithilesh Tiwari took oath in Sanskrit. Whereas MLA Abidur Rehman, Kamrul Hoda, Sarbar Alam, MLA and AIMIM state president Akhtarul Iman and MLA Murshid Alam took oath in Urdu.
