The Election Commission of India (Election Commission of India) released the draft voter list for the state of Bihar on 1 August 2025. This list was issued under Special Intensive Revision – SIR 2025, under which the calculation phase was concluded from 24 June to 25 July.

The accuracy of the voter list is the foundation of Indian democracy. If a eligible person is missed or a ineligible person remains in the list, then it can affect electoral transparency.
38 districts 243 assembly constituency and 90712 polling stations
This time special intensive revision covers 38 districts of Bihar, 243 assembly constituencies and 90,712 polling stations. Political parties have also been given a copy of the voter list and the list of voters who were in the list of June 24, but are not included in the new draft. This will ensure that no eligible voter accidentally remains out of the list.

The Election Commission said that 1.6 lakh booth level agents (BLA) of 12 major political parties took active participation in this process. Also, booth level officers (BLO) have been entrusted with the responsibility of submitting new photos from voters by 1 September 2025.
