Big success of DRDO: New armor for India’s air defense, Akash-NG missile ready; Know why it is special – India Drdo Successfully Conducts User Trials Of Akash Next Generation Air Defense Missile

India has achieved another major success in strengthening indigenous defense capabilities. User trials of Akash Next Generation i.e. Akash-NG Air Defense Missile System have been successfully completed. After the success of these tests, it has become clear that this missile system is now completely ready to be included in the Indian Army and Indian Air Force.

Akash-NG is an upgraded version of the existing Akash missile system. It has been developed completely with indigenous technology. This missile is capable of shooting down aerial threats like enemy fighter aircraft, drones and cruise missiles with great accuracy. Its range, speed and response capability are better than ever, which will further strengthen India’s air defense.

What happened in the user trial?

User evaluation trial means that the system which will be used by the army itself tests its capability. In these tests, Akash-NG successfully hit the target while meeting all the prescribed parameters. These trials proved that the system is capable of working in all weather and different conditions. After this, the way has been cleared for its inclusion in the Army and Air Force.

Another big achievement of DRDO

This month, DRDO successfully conducted another important test. A high-speed rocket sled test of the escape system designed for fighter aircraft pilots was conducted. The test took place at the TBRL center in Chandigarh at a speed of 800 kilometers per hour, in which all the important parameters related to the safe evacuation of the pilot were met.

Why is this escape system test special?

According to the Defense Ministry, this test includes India among the select group of countries which have indigenous testing capability of state-of-the-art escape systems. This was a dynamic ejection test, which is more complex than simple static tests. It used a dual-sled system with the front section of the LCA aircraft and recorded all pressure, shock and safety parameters using a dummy pilot.

Strong step towards self-reliant India

Tests like Akash-NG missile and fighter aircraft escape system show that India is now becoming increasingly self-reliant in the defense sector. Dependence on foreign technology is decreasing and indigenous systems are not only developing but also successfully meeting the needs of the army. In the coming times, this will further strengthen India’s military strength and strategic position.
