Sahara india refund: There is good news for those who are trapped in Sahara India. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that a total of Rs 2,025.75 crore has been refunded to 11,61,077 deposits of Sahara Group Cooperative Societies by 28 January 2025. Apart from this, people whose money is still trapped, they can get their money back through a website. Let’s know about it in detail.
What did Amit Shah say in Lok Sabha?
Union Minister Amit Shah said in the Lok Sabha that by 28 January 2025, a total of Rs 2,025.75 crore has been refunded to 11,61,077 depositors of Sahara Group Cooperative Society. He told that this payment is being made through a website and the entire process is digital. Its monitoring Supreme Court judge Justice R.K. Subhash Reddy is doing and Amicus Curie Gaurav Aggarwal is helping him.
Shah said that all applications are being investigated in a transparent manner based on the correct identity and evidence of the amount submitted. At present, every depositor is being paid up to a maximum of 50,000 in their Aadhaar bank account. However, according to the information available on the CRCS-SAHARA Refund portal, investors can claim to get back up to Rs 5,00,000 lakh.
What is new information
According to the information given on the CRCS-SAHARA Refund portal, now those investors, whose amount of up to Rs 5 lakh is stuck in Sahara India, can apply for his refund. However, the date of application for an amount of more than Rs 5 lakh will be announced later. This portal has been designed to give refund to depositors of four cooperative societies of Sahara Group as per the Supreme Court’s directive of 29 March 2023. These are the cooperative societies of the four Sahara groups-
- Our India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata
- Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow
- Saharayan Universal Multiper Society Limited, Bhopal
- Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Hyderabad
These documents are necessary
If an investor is claiming an amount of more than Rs 50,000, then the PAN card will be mandatory. Apart from this, these conditions have to be fulfilled to apply.
- Link to Aadhaar should be mobile number.
- It is mandatory to have a link bank account from Aadhaar.
- Full details of the amount deposited in all Sahara committees will have to be given.
Way to claim
First go to the RCS-Sahra Refund portal. Register using the link mobile number link to your Aadhaar. Fill the complete information about your deposit. Upload PAN card (if the amount is more than Rs 50,000) and other necessary documents. After submitting the application, the amount will come to your bank account within 45 days.
