Kia Carens CNG Price & Features: South Korean car manufacturer Kia has given a major update to its popular MPV Carens portfolio. Kia, which offers its vehicles in petrol, diesel and electric segments, has now entered the CNG segment in view of the market. The company has launched a new CNG variant of Kia Carens, which is priced at Rs 11.77 lakh (ex-showroom). This model will be a great option especially for families and flight operators who are looking for the best combination of style, space and economy.

Features of CNG kit

The CNG kit installed in this variant is not an aftermarket attachment, but is being offered as a dealer-level fitment. Kia has used the government-certified Lovato DIO kit for this, which comes with a third-party warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh kilometres. The price of this kit is Rs 77,900, which can be installed on the base Premium (O) petrol variant (price Rs 10.99 lakh).

Engine and Transmission

There has been no change in the engine mechanism of Carens CNG. It gets the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Although Kia has not shared its power figures, this is the same engine which is known for its smooth performance and refined nature.

How is the design of the car?

Kia has not made any cuts in the exterior look. The body-coloured bumpers and door handles, silver-finished tiger nose grille, rear spoiler, shark-fin antenna, and halogen headlamps and taillamps give it a simple yet premium look. The car runs on R15 or R16 steel wheels with full-size wheel covers.

Talking about size, Carens CNG is 4,540 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,708 mm high (including roof rails). The wheelbase of 2,780 mm makes it one of the most spacious MPVs in its segment.

Kia has also introduced this variant in 6 attractive colors. Which includes Clear White, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, and Pewter Olive colors. This MPV presents a different personality in every color.

Class and comfort in the cabin

Black and indigo semi-leatherette seats, 60:40 split second-row seats (with sliding, reclining and tumble function) and 50:50 split third-row seats that fold full-flat are provided. There are also roof-mounted AC vents for the second and third row passengers, making long journeys extremely comfortable.

The dashboard combination is in Saturn Black, Cocoon Beige and Navy shades, accented with Indigo metallic paint. It also has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Which supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play, as well as voice recognition and setup of 6 speakers.

There is competition with them

The direct competition of Kia Carens in the market is with cars like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Maruti XL6. Which already comes with company fitted CNG kit. However, Kia has not given any information about the mileage after this CNG fitment. But it is expected that this will save more fuel than the regular model and this car will prove to be economical. Let us tell you that the starting price of Maruti Ertiga CNG is Rs 10.76 lakh.
