Mohammed Shami In Ranji Trophy: Indian cricket team’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami is doing wonders in Ranji Trophy. Shami took 8 wickets in 28 overs. Shami had also taken 7 wickets against Uttarakhand in the last match played in Ranji Trophy. Shami is continuously bowling well for Bengal in Ranji Trophy. With this, Shami wants to tell the selectors of Team India with his strong performance that he is completely fit and ready to return to the Indian team. Currently, Team India is on Australia tour, where a 5-match T20 series is to be played. But Shami is not a part of this squad.
Mohammed Shami’s brilliant bowling
Mohammed Shami took 8 wickets in the ongoing group stage match between Bengal and Gujarat. Shami took 3 wickets for 44 runs in 18.3 overs in Gujarat’s first innings. Gujarat’s batsmen could not stand against Shami even in the second innings. Shami sent five batsmen back to the pavilion in Gujarat’s second innings and completed the five-wicket haul. Because of Shami’s explosive bowling, Bengal won the match by 141 runs.
Tension going on between Shami and selectors
Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami was last seen playing in an international match for Team India during the Champions Trophy 2025. Since then Shami has been out of the team. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar had once said ‘no update’ when asked about Shami’s injury during a press conference. Shami, while talking to the media in response to this, said, ‘I am there to play, if I was not fit, then how would I have been playing Ranji Trophy’. When Ajit Agarkar got this reply from Shami, the Chief Selector said, ‘I think Shami and I need to talk about this’.
