Baba siddique murder case: Zeeshan Akhtar, the absconding accused in the NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiki murder case, is currently out of police custody. Zeeshan Akhtar is currently hiding in Nepal and has joined hands with ISI of Pakistan.
Only after the connection with ISI, social media and a post went viral, claiming that Zeeshan is not a member of Akhtar Bishnoi gang. After this post, the crime branch has started investigation. Officials believe that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has distanced himself from Zeeshan Akhtar after Akhtar’s name surfaced in a grenade attack case at the house of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar recently. The Punjab Police has found that Akhtar and gangster Shahzad Bhatti, who worked for Akhtar and Pakistan for intelligence agency ISI, were behind this attack.

Sources said that this is the second time when Akhtar’s name has been linked to Bhatti. Earlier, in February this year, Akhtar released a video from an unknown foreign location, claiming that he was incorrectly implicated in the Baba Siddiqui murder case and has helped from Bhatti. The Punjab Police has claimed whether it is either in Azerbaijan or in an European country. However, sources in the Mumbai Crime Branch have revealed that it is hidden somewhere in Nepal.
BJP leader was also involved in attack
Sources in the Crime Branch have claimed that the Punjab Police investigation confirmed Zeeshan Akhtar’s involvement in the grenade attack on the BJP leader in Jalandhar. This confirmation took place after the arrest of the two accused, who took the name of Akhtar during interrogation. The Crime Branch further claimed that now it is suspected that it is working from a foreign place with the help of Pakistan’s ISI and is being used to take action against India.
‘Zeeshan Akhtar was in touch with Shubham Lonkar’
Zeeshan Akhtar, a resident of Jalandhar, was arrested in 2022 and was kept in Patiala Jail till his release in June 2024. He has many serious allegations including murder, attempt to murder and robbery in Punjab. Police records show that he has a strong relationship with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He is also associated with Pune gangster Saurabh Mahakal, earlier the Mumbai Police had questioned the threatening letter sent to actor Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan. Akhtar was allegedly involved in the conspiracy of the Baba Siddiqui murder case and the main accused was in direct contact with Shubham Lonkar.
The police have not denied possible relations with the accused with Pakistan -based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) leader Harvinder Singh alias Rinda and gangster Happy Pasia.
