Troubled by the allegations of promoting conversion in Khargone in Madhya Pradesh, Aruna Upadhyay, the only Hindu woman councilor of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi’s party in Madhya Pradesh, has resigned from the party.
In a letter written to the Central Office of AIMIM in Hyderabad on July 14, she said that she was resigning from the membership of the core committee and the party for personal reasons. Aruna Upadhyay told reporters that she is not going to join any other party, but she will continue to work as an independent councilor of Khargone Municipal Council.
So resigned
He said that he has resigned due to allegations of conversion and persistent harassment. Aruna’s husband and some others allegedly accused him of converting people into Islam.
Capted for personal reasons
It is worth noting that for the last few days, due to family dispute, councilor AIMIM’s female leader Aruna Upadhyay was getting upset. They are once again in discussions by leaving the party’s membership in this way. In the letter, Aruna wrote that “I am in the post of Aruna Upadhyay ward number-2 councilor municipal Khargone. Your party contested and won on AIMIM ticket. I am giving my resignation cards with core committee and party membership for my personal reasons and I will continue to hold the responsibility independently of my councilor. So accept my resignation.”
Election was won from Muslim seat
Let me tell you that in the civic elections of 2022, she was one of the four candidates who won on a party ticket led by Asaduddin Owaisi. Upadhyay’s victory attracted everyone’s attention as he won from ‘Ward 2’, where 70 percent of the Muslim population was.
