On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the group of devotees who left to visit the historical Gurudwaras in Pakistan, reached the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) office in Amritsar today i.e. on 31 October. Devotees got their passports

SGPC had already announced that the contingent would leave on November 4 and return to India on November 13. Out of approximately 1800 passports, VJ has been issued to 1794 Sangats by the Government of Pakistan.

An atmosphere of happiness was seen among the devotees who came to receive the passports. Devotee Surjeet Singh, who came from Barnala, said emotionally, I am going to Pakistan for the first time. This time I got the visa, I am very happy. We pray to Maharaj Ji that all the Sangat who go, may their journey be auspicious and may everyone get the pleasure of seeing the Guru.

Sangat excited to visit historical Gurudwaras of Pakistan as soon as the border opens

Kulwinder Singh, in-charge of the group leaving to visit the historical Gurudwaras in Pakistan on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, said that this time there is immense enthusiasm and happiness in the Sangat. He said that earlier during the war situation, the devotees were not able to go to Pakistan due to the closure of the border, but now that the border has opened, there is an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm in the congregation.

Kulwinder Singh further informed that on November 4, the group will be flagged off from the SGPC office in Amritsar at 8:30 am and will visit several holy sites including Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Dera Sahib and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib. He requested all the devotees to please reach on time in the morning.

He also appealed to the Sangat that all the devotees should remain with the group during the yatra and should not separate from the group for any reason. This holy journey is being done only for Guru darshan and spiritual purpose, hence all the devotees should maintain discipline and reverence.
