Ajit Pawar faction’s minister Manikrao Kokate has resigned from the post on Wednesday (December 17). Governor Acharya Devvrat has approved the letter related to departmental changes in the context of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s letter. Due to this, this news is being considered the biggest in the political circles of the state. Now the responsibility of all the departments which were with Manikrao Kokate has been handed over to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Manikrao Kokate had submitted his resignation to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, after which the developments progressed rapidly.
Manikrao admitted to Kokate hospital
Manikrao Kokate has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai today (December 17) morning after the district court upheld the sentence in the Sadanika scam case. At present his treatment is going on there. After submitting the resignation, the charge of Manikrao Kokate’s departments has been handed over to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Court’s decision and increased difficulties
Nashik Sessions Court on Tuesday (16th) had upheld the two-year sentence awarded by the lower court in the Sadanika scam case. Due to this, Manikrao Kokate’s problems increased and the opposition became aggressive in demanding his resignation. Kokate had challenged the decision of the Sessions Court in the Mumbai High Court, the hearing of which is to be held on Friday. But even before this the news of his resignation has come to light. Kokate was holding the responsibility of the post of Sports Minister of the state.
Kokate betrayed the state government – court
Nashik Sessions Court upheld the lower court’s February 20 order. The court had said on Tuesday that Kokate had submitted fake documents and cheated the state government to get the flats reserved for the economically weaker section. The court had also said that Kokate is a prosperous farmer.
