There was a stir in the flight going from Delhi to Ahmedabad when the plane made an emergency landing late at night due to smoke in the cargo hold. According to the information, due to suspicion of smoke in the cargo hold of Air India flight number AI 2939, an emergency landing was made at Delhi Airport at 10:20 pm. The plane going to Ahmedabad had to return to Delhi airport.

According to the information, the crew saw signs of smoke in the cargo hold of the aircraft. After which a safe emergency landing of the aircraft was made at Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to initial information, the plane took off from Delhi, soon after which the crew member was detected by a sensor indicating smoke in the cargo compartment. In such a situation, following the safety protocol, the pilot informed the air traffic control and immediately asked for priority landing clearance.

After this, emergency response teams were put on alert mode while landing the plane. Where all the passengers and crew members disembarked safely. After careful investigation, the smoke signal in the plane was found to be false.

Regarding the entire matter, an Air India official said, “On November 27, the crew of flight number AI2939 from Delhi to Ahmedabad decided to return to Delhi immediately after take-off due to smoke indication in the cargo area. Later, after a thorough precautionary check of the aircraft, this indication was found to be incorrect. Following the standard operating procedure, the aircraft landed in Delhi and the passengers and crew members were safely deboarded. Our ground team in Delhi provided immediate assistance to the passengers and evacuated them quickly. Alternative arrangements were made to quickly reach their destination.”
