Argentina’s legendary footballer Lionel Messi recently came on a three-day tour of India. During this time he went to Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and finally Delhi. Wherever Messi went, there was a gathering of his fans and the stadium looked packed with spectators every time. In Kolkata, he also unveiled a 70 feet high statue along with his World Cup trophy. Now Lionel Messi has given his reaction regarding the India tour.
Lionel Messi’s special post
Lionel Messi shared a post on Instagram, in which he thanked India and the people of India through a video clip. In the video clip shared by him, Messi captured the memorable moments of his India tour.
Messi wrote in the caption accompanying the video clip, “Hello India, the trip to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata was memorable. Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome, respect and love throughout this tour. I hope that the future of football in India will be bright.”
We will come to India again!
Lionel Messi had earlier come to India in the year 2011. After 14 years he had decided to visit India. Now in the video clip shared on Instagram, he also said, “We are returning with a lot of love that we have received here and will come back. I hope that one day we will be able to come to India and play football matches, but of course we will come back to India.”
Got T20 World Cup ticket
Earlier during the India tour, Sachin Tendulkar met Lionel Messi and presented him his 2011 ODI World Cup jersey. On the other hand, Messi presented the 2022 Football World Cup ball to Tendulkar. Apart from this, Messi also got a ticket for the 2026 T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka as a gift. ICC Chairman Jay Shah gifted him a ticket for the India vs USA World Cup match to be held on 7 February.
