E-aadhaar app: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is now going to introduce a new QR code based E-Aadhaar system across the country which will be started by the end of 2025. With the help of this system, Aadhaar card holders will be able to verify their identity digitally without any physical photocopy.

According to UIDAI CEO Bhuvanesh Kumar, about 2,000 of the one lakh base authentication devices present across the country have been updated for QR support. After this, only one QR scan can be identified verification, which will make the entire process more fast and simple.

E-Aadhaar Mobile App should make details update sitting at home

UIDAI will soon launch a new Aadhaar mobile app so that users will be able to update personal information like their name, address and date of birth directly from mobile. Now there will be no need to visit Aadhaar Seva centers for these works. This app will also get rid of users from the hassle of giving physical copies of documents and the entire process of update will be paperless and convenient.

New rules will be implemented from November 2025

According to UIDAI, from November 2025, only biometric updates (such as fingerprint and iris scan) will have to go to the Aadhaar service centers. All other changes can be made from the name, address, date of birth etc. app. In addition, UIDAI is working on a system that will directly certify the information of users from the government database. These can include birth certificate, PAN card, passport, driving license, ration card, MNREGA record and electricity bill.

Identity will be protected and strong

This new system will not only increase the facility, but will also reduce the cases of cheating related to identity. QR-based verification is currently being tested as a pilot project in some sub-registrar offices and hotel industry to know how safe and effective this system is. In this, the information of the user will be shared only if he gives a clear consent so that the privacy can also be kept completely safe.

Special attention on children’s Aadhaar updates

UIDAI is now running a biometric update campaign for school children. Under this, biometric information of children aged 5 to 7 years and 15 to 17 years will be updated in collaboration with boards like CBSE so that their Aadhaar records will remain updated according to time.
