A new video has surfaced on social media amid ongoing protests against the regime of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in which a young man is seen climbing the balcony of the Iranian Embassy in London, taking down the country’s official flag and hoisting in its place the flag with the lion and sun symbol from before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. At the same time, in the video, the crowd standing outside the embassy is heard reacting strongly to his move by clapping and shouting slogans.
Video footage shows a protesting youth climbing up onto the balcony of the embassy building in Kensington, London, through the front windows and pillars on Friday (January 9, 2026), then pulling down the flag of the Islamic Republic flying on the roof of the embassy and replacing it with a flag with a historical symbol associated with the monarchy of Iran.
What did the London Metropolitan Police say on the incident?
Regarding this incident, the Metropolitan Police said that officers were called to the scene and two people have been arrested. One of the men was arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and assault on an emergency worker, while the other was detained on suspicion of aggravated trespass.
This is the Iranian hero and master climber who scaled the walls of the Islamic regime’s embassy in London today.
He tore down the regime flag and flew Iran’s real flag instead

Police also said that they are also searching for a third person on charges of trespassing. It is not yet clear whether the person who removed the flag from the embassy is among those arrested or not. However, the Iranian Embassy in London has not yet given any reaction regarding this incident.
Khamenei protests taking place outside Iran too
This protest in London has come at a time when Iran is facing the most serious unrest in recent years. The protests that started last month on December 28, 2025 over economic issues have now spread across the country and have become a direct challenge to the religious leadership of the country.
