Three Indians were abducted on Tuesday (1 July 2025) in the West African country of Mali. These people used to work in a diamond cement factory. Some attackers attacked the factory and forcibly took three Indians hostage.
The Government of India has expressed deep concern over the incident. The Ministry of External Affairs asked the Mali government to take all possible steps for safe and early release of Indians. The Indian Embassy is in touch with local authorities and factory management in Bamako.
The embassy is also talking to the families of Indians. So far, no criminal group active in the gardener has taken responsibility for kidnapping. However, the Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam Wall-Musslimin (JNIM), associated with al-Qaeda, took responsibility for the second attacks in Mali on the same day.
The Government of India asked the Indians living in Mali to take precautions and keep in touch with the embassy.

The US space agency NASA is going to launch its first space station mission in June 2026, for which Indian -origin American astronaut Anil Menon has been selected.
Menon will fly in June 2026 to the International Space Station from the Russian Space Agency Rosmosus Soys MS-29 vehicle.
In this mission, he will be included as a flight engineer and crew member of Expedition 75. Two astronauts of Rososumos will also be involved in this campaign. The team will conduct research in ISS for eight months.
Anil’s wife Anna Menon is also associated with the space mission. She joined a private spacewalk mission in 2024. He is a major space operating engineer in SpaceX. She has written the book ‘Kis from Space’ for children.
Menon was chosen by an astronaut by NASA in 2021. Born in Miniapolis and grew up, Menon is an emergency medical expert, mechanical engineer and Colonel of Space Force. His father is of Indian and mother Ukrainian origin.
UAE will give golden visa to Indians for ₹ 23 lakh, expected to apply for 5 thousand people in 3 months
For Indians, UAE (United Arab Emirates) will launch a new golden visa scheme. With this, Indians can get UAE’s life time golden visa for depositing a fee of Rs 23 lakh 30 thousand.
Till now, a property worth Rs 4 crore 66 lakh had to be purchased for the golden visa or a large amount had to be invested. Now where the UAE government has reduced the amount in the new visa, it will be a lifetime for the new golden visa holder.
Here, 5 thousand Indians are expected to apply in the first 3 months of the first phase of this golden visa. Raid Kamal, director of the authorized company for visa process, told Dainik Bhaskar, online applications can be made from July 4.
The applicant’s background, criminal records will be checked and sent to the UAE government. The government will check the applicant’s profile and issue a visa on the basis of nomination. The applicant’s probability contribution to the UAE’s economy and human resources will be given preference.
