The Jammu and Kashmir Haj Samiti has issued pre-prostitution guidelines for interested pilgrims preparing for Haj 2026. According to the committee notification, the official announcement of Haj 2026 is expected to be held this month. According to the guidelines, the passports are eligible by the machine, they should be valid by at least at least by 31 December 2026, the issued authority or RPO seal and signature and no physical damage such as torn pages, loose cover or other losses. Apart from this, applicants applying for new passports have been instructed not to leave any field empty.
According to the Haj Committee, in 2025 this year, 4,100 applications were received from Jammu and Kashmir, out of which 3,601 pilgrims were selected and 21 more people were added under Maharam quota. In this way a total of 3,622 pilgrims were elected to Haj. More than 700 applicants withdrew the names this year. According to official data, in 2024, where Jammu and Kashmir got 8,200 quota, only 8,147 forms were received.
At the same time, in 2023, the highest pilgrimage was recorded so far, when more than 12,000 people went to the holy Haj. The Haj Committee has appealed to the pilgrims to complete their documentary preparations in time, so that there is no obstruction in the application process as soon as the official notification is issued.
