Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Monday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role globally, saying that his energy, activism and willingness to communicate is a major property for India. What did Tharoor say?
Shashi Tharoor wrote in his article, ‘Prime Minister Modi’s energy, activeness and global dialogue readiness is a major strength of India, which should get more support.’ He said that India’s diplomatic activism after the ‘Operation Sindoor’, which began in the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April and its response, strengthened India’s position internationally.

Diplomatic victory with solidarity- Tharoor
The Congress leader said that he led a seven -member multi -party delegation, who traveled to countries such as Gayana, Panama, Columbia and Brazil. The aim of these tours was to convince the world that India’s attack was a self -defense step against terrorism and not the war against a nation. He said, “Our solidarity gave a strong message to the world that India speaks in one voice on the issue of terrorism, no matter how many differences in internal politics.”
Colombia supports, also agreed with America
Shashi Tharoor claimed that the success of India’s diplomacy proves that Columbia supported India’s right to self -defense by withdrawing his earlier statements (in which civil deaths in Pakistan). He said that the Indian side received sympathy in the US, while the Pakistani delegation was also present there. US officials supported India’s view that concrete action should be taken against terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Tharoor’s commentary separate from party line
Shashi Tharoor’s remarks came at a time when the Congress party is criticizing the foreign policy of the Modi government, especially about the claim of mediation in the India-Pakistan ceasefire by US President Donald Trump. There have been many criticism within Tharoor’s party that they support some foreign policy initiatives of the government. In Thiruvananthapuram last week, he said that there is disagreement with his party leadership on some issues, but he will not say anything on it as Nilambur by -election is in front.

The Government of India sent seven multi -party delegations in 33 global capitals to tell the world that India’s reply against Pakistan sponsored terrorism was justified and restrained. Tharoor wrote, ‘We explained that India’s military move was focused against the terrorists, and the citizens or the Pakistani army were not harmed. It was a balanced and moral reaction. ‘
