The Emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) saw a sharp debate on the attack on Iran’s nuclear bases by the US. Russia, China and Pakistan introduced a draft proposal in the 15 -member council, demanding an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in West Asia.
At the beginning of the meeting, UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres said, “The US bombing is a dangerous turn on Iran’s nuclear bases. We have to take action immediately and decisively to stop the fight and start serious and dialogue on Iran’s nuclear program.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US has “completely destroyed” Iran’s major nuclear bases. This is considered to be the largest Western military attack on the Islamic Republic after the 1979 Iranian revolution. After this move of America, the whole world is now waiting for Iran’s response.
Russia and China condemned America’s attack
Russia and China have strongly condemned this attack. China’s United Nations Ambassador Fu Kong said, “Can not be brought in West Asia using peace force. Currently dialogue and dialogue is the right way for solution. Diplomatic options on the Iranian nuclear issue are not yet over and the path of peace is still open.”
America defended attack on Iran
America’s acting UN Ambassador Dorothy Shia said that it is now time for decisive action. He appealed to the Security Council to ask Iran to end his efforts to erase Israel and stop their efforts of nuclear weapons. He said, “Iran has been hiding its nuclear program for a long time and has been avoiding our goodwill efforts in recent conversations.”
Russia’s UN messenger Vasili Nebangia compared the attack to the 2003 Iraq War. He said, “Once again we are being asked to believe in America’s imaginary stories, which will have to suffer millions of people in West Asia. This proves that America has not learned anything from history.”

Iran called the attack as “open and illegal attack”
Iran, demanding this meeting, termed the US move as a “open and illegal attack” and appealed to the Security Council to condemn it in the most strict words. However, it is not clear when the council will vote on this draft proposal. At least nine votes are required to pass the proposal and none of the US, France, Britain, Russia or China should be veto.
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon said that America and Israel should not be criticized, but should be praised as they have contributed to making the world a safe place.
Pits appeared at the promotion place in Fordo
IAEA head Rafael Gosi said that pits are visible due to bombing at the promotion place under a mountain in Fordo, but assessment of the loss under the ground is not possible yet. He said that the entry points and Natanj plant of rich uranium storage tunnels in Isfahan have also been targeted. According to IAEA, no increase of any external radiation has been recorded at all three sites yet.
