Meta Introduces New Login Feature for Mobile Users Passkey Know how your profile will be more secure than before

Facebook passkey: META has now introduced a new and more secure way of login for Facebook users Passkey. This feature is currently launched on iOS and Android mobile devices and will soon be added to the Messenger app. Passkey is actually a digital login system that replaces the old password. In this, the user has to use fingerprint, face ID or device PIN to log in. This technique has been developed by Fido Alliance, which aims to improve the safety of online accounts.

Passkey is more secure

META says that Passkey technology is far more secure than the traditional password. It not only protects against fishing attacks and credentials theft but also proves to be quite strong against hacking techniques like password spraying.

How does this feature work?

Users can set the passkey by going to the “Accounts Center” in the settings of their Facebook app. In some cases, this option may also be found automatically to the user while logging. Once the passkey is set, login to Facebook on the mobile device will be even faster and safe.

META’s plan is that in the coming time, Passkey will also be used in many other features like Messenger, Meta Pay (to autofil information), and secrete message backup. Although Passkey Default Login option will become, but in the device where it does not support it, users will also be able to log in from traditional passwords.

Meta cleaning with biometric data

META has made it clear that biometric details like user’s fingerprint or face data are stored only in the device and the company does not get any information about them. In this way, the privacy of the user is also completely safe.
