Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that India has decided to stop the Indus Water Agreement at the moment. This step has been taken in view of increasing tension in India-Pakistan relations. Along with this, the government has also decided to cancel all visa exemption issued to Pakistani citizens under SAARC. Apart from this, the process of closing the Pakistani Embassy in India is being started. The central government has directed Pakistani diplomats to leave India within 48 hours. Along with this decision, the attic border checkpost will also be closed, which will also eliminate ground connectivity between India and Pakistan. Order to leave the country for Pakistani officials
Defense, Navy and Air Force advisors of the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi have been declared ‘unwanted person’. They have to leave India within a week. Similarly, India will also call back its military advisors and five assistant employees located in Islamabad. The total number of employees of the two countries will be reduced from 55 to 30, which will be effective by 1 May.
