Regarding Nagpur violence, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that it seems that the violence was planned. Speaking on the Nagpur issue in the assembly, CM Fadnavis said that ‘the attack on the police will not be tolerated at all. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal demonstrated, after which the rumor spread that religious materials were burnt. It seems that it was a planned violence, but no one is allowed to take the law into their own hands. CM said that ‘Chhava film has provoked anger against people against Aurangzeb, but everyone should maintain peace in the state.’

More than 50 detained and five FIRs lodged
Police Commissioner Ravindra Singhal said on Tuesday that more than 50 people have been detained and five FIRs have been registered in connection with the violence in Nagpur city. Violence erupted in Central Nagpur on Monday evening, in which the police were stoned. The rumor spread that the holy book was burnt during the protests by a right -wing organization to remove the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb (located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district).
Nagpur in -charge minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that the atmosphere was spoiled through social media and he appealed to the opposition not to politicize the matter. Bawankule, who held a review meeting with the Police Commissioner and the District Collector, also appealed to the members of all communities to maintain harmony. He said, ‘There was no lapse from the Home Department. The police stood as a shield between Hindu and Muslim communities (during violence), in which many policemen were also injured. Bawankule said that the situation is a bit tense at the moment, but there is peace in the city due to adequate police forces being deployed.

‘Will not tolerate those who support Aurangzeb’
Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said on Nagpur violence that ‘those who support Aurangzeb in Maharashtra will not be tolerated. He said that the incident that happened in Nagpur is unfortunate. The police is investigating whether it was a planned conspiracy or not. Four DCP level officials were injured in the violence. CM is reviewing the incident. Police say many people came from outside. Petrol bombs were thrown. The incident of police attack is unfortunate. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. I appeal to people to maintain peace.
