An FIR has been registered in Chennai against Tamil actor -turned -politician Thalapati Vijay. He has been accused of insulting the Muslim community.
In fact, in the past, Talapati Vijay had organized Iftar party when the holy month of Ramadan began. During this time, he not only Iftar with the Muslim community, but also kept a day’s fasting.

According to News18, a complaint has now been filed against Thalapati Vijay at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office on behalf of Tamil Nadu Sunnah Jamaat in this case, alleging that he has hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community during Iftar.
Legal action against the actor- Syed Kaus
Syed Kaus, treasurer of Tamil Nadu Sunnah Jamaat, said that some people were also present in the Iftar program, who neither had any relation with Roja nor with Islamic practices. It also included drunkards and goons. This has insulted the sanctity of the Muslim community.
He said that such incidents do not happen again, so legal action is necessary. He has also clarified that they are not making this complaint to propagate, but to maintain respect and reputation in future ceremonies.
