Notice was issued to students

According to the news of Hindustan Times, earlier on February 23, a show cause notice was issued to the students celebrating the Hindu festival Holi in the Dawood Engineering and Technology University campus in Karachi. The issue went to everyone’s attention when Lal Malahi, a former member of Pakistan’s National Assembly, raised a question on social media, in which he expressed concern over the increasing criminalization of the religious practices of minorities in Pakistan. Malahi questioned, “Has it become a crime now to celebrate Holi? Is it considered a task against the state to celebrate Holi in the university?” In the notice, the students were accused of involvement in the activities considered abusive for the state.
