Kia Sells More Than 4 Lakh Sonet In Less Than 4 Years

Sonet of South Korea’s automobile company KIA has crossed four lakh units of sales in India. It was launched about four years ago. This sales include sales in the country as well as exports. It has sold 3,17,754 units in the country and 85,814 units have been exported. The company launched the updated Sonet earlier this year.

63 percent of the customers buying SONET have chosen its sunroof variants. Apart from this, 63 percent have bought a model with its petrol engine and about 37 percent with 1.5 liters of diesel engine. The number of people buying variants with its automatic transmission is about 28 percent. The segment of compact SUV in the country is increasing rapidly. “There is a big opportunity in the compact SUV segment in the country, Myung-Sik Sohn, the Chief Sales Officer of the KIA unit in the country. Many customers who buy the car for the first time are coming to this segment.”

It competes with Maruti Suzuki’s Brezzaza and Hyundai’s venue. This is a SUV of less than four meters. However, the most sales model in the country for KIA is SELTOS. The design of the DRL has been changed in the updated sonet. Its headlights and front bumpers have also changed. It is available in eight single and two dual-tone colors. Its monotone colors have Olive, White, Silver, Gray, Red, Blue, Clear White and Black. Dual-tone colors include black roof with red and black roof with white.

It has a 10.25 inch main touchscreen display and a 10.25 -inch LCD driver display. Along with this, features such as 360 degree camera, smart air purification system, seven speaker Bose sound system and electric sunroof have been provided. The company is also getting strong demand for SELTOS SUV. The KIA unit in the country has decided to increase its production capacity and cut exports. Last month, KIA increased the price of SELTOS, Sonet and Carens by 3 percent. The reason for this was an increase in manufacturing cost.
