Mohan Singh Bisht is the most senior MLA in the assembly. Bisht Arvind has also won the election in the wave of Kejriwal. He first became an MLA from Karawal Nagar in 1998. He was then selected from this seat continuously in 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2020. This time the party changed his seat and made a candidate from Mustafabad. Bisht also expressed displeasure over this.

BJP gave ticket to Kapil Mishra from Karawal Nagar seat this time. Mishra became a minister in Rekha Gupta government after winning. In the 2015 assembly elections, Kapil Mishra contested from Karawal Nagar on AAP’s ticket and defeated Mohan Singh Bisht. Later Kapil Mishra joined BJP.

Mohan Singh Bisht got 85,215 votes in this time. Here AAP candidate Adil Ahmed Khan got 67,637 votes, Tahir Hussain of AIMIM got 33,474 votes and Ali Mehndi of Congress got 11,763 votes.
