Allahabad High Court on Maha Kumbh Stampede: The Yogi government of UP has got a big relief from the Allahabad High Court in the case related to the stampede on Mauni Amavasya on January 29 in Prayagraj Mahakumbh. The Allahabad High Court has disposed of the PIL filed for the stampede incident.
In the hearing held on Somvara (24 February) in the Allahabad High Court today, it was told by the UP government that the scope of investigation of the judicial commission has been increased. Such points have also been included in the investigation, whose demand was made in the PIL. The judicial commission has also been given additional time of one month for investigation.
The Allahabad High Court has disposed of the PIL on this basis. Suresh Chandra Pandey, former general secretary of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association, filed a PIL. The case has been heard in the division bench of Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and Justice Kshitij Shailendra. The court has said that the petitioner can put his words before the judicial commission.

If not satisfied with the report of the Judicial Commission, the court can come again. The Allahabad High Court sought information from the UP government in the last hearing. The court had asked the UP government whether the scope of investigation of the judicial commission could be increased.
Public interest litigation was filed in demand for correct details
It can include or not to identify the number of casualties and to look into other complaints related to stampede. A public interest litigation was filed in demanding the investigation under judicial supervision and giving the right details of the missing people after the incident.
The court had said that till now the investigation of other relevant details of the stampede is not included in the commission’s field. In the PIL, several demands were made, including detection of missing people and correct counting of victims in the stampede, constitution of monitoring committee.
30 people died in Mahakumbh stampede accident
Additional Advocate General Manish Goyal presented information on behalf of the UP government today. In Mahakumbh, the stampede Sangam Noj took place after midnight on January 29, in which a total of 30 people were killed. The state government formed a judicial commission to investigate the stampede of Mauni Amavasya on 29 January.
