Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya has made a big claim in the Karnataka High Court. The liquor businessman on Wednesday claimed that the amount recovered by the banks is more than the debt taken by them. Banks have a debt of Rs 6,200 crore on them, but have been charged many times more than this. Mallya sought the details of the amount recovered from them, United Breweries Holdings Limited and other debates.

The fugitive businessman filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court on 3 February. In response, a notice was issued to banks on Wednesday. Justice R. Devdas directed banks to reply by 13 February. In the petition, under the revised recovery certificate in the form of interim relief, banks have demanded a ban on the sale of any type of property in the future.
