Jasprit Bumrah Fitness Update: Nothing is clear yet regarding the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah. Till now no official statement has come from BCCI regarding Bumrah’s fitness. But the report that has come out has said something shocking. It was said about Bumrah that if he becomes 100 percent fit in the given time, it will be a miracle. Apart from this, it was told that Bumrah’s fitness will depend a lot on the report of New Zealand’s doctor Rowan Schouten.
Let us tell you that Rowan Schouten is the same surgeon who had operated on Bumrah’s back. Bumrah felt uncomfortable during the last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played on the Australia tour, after which he did not bowl in the second innings of the match.
The report quoted a BCCI source as saying, “The BCCI medical team is in touch with Rowan Schouten in New Zealand. The board has also made a plan for Bumrah to visit New Zealand. But the visit has not taken place yet. The selectors know that It will be a miracle if we become 100 percent fit in the given time.”
The source was further quoted as saying, “His reports will be shared with the doctor in New Zealand. The decision to send Bumrah to New Zealand will depend on the feedback. Considering his importance in the long run, the board and Bumrah himself are not ready to put too much emphasis on it.” If he is ready after the process is completed, the selectors will need to have a backup plan ready for him. It would be a miracle if Bumrah does it.”
Siraj may return
It is noteworthy that all the teams can make changes in the Champions Trophy squad till 11th February. Harshit Rana has been selected for the first two matches of the ODI series against England before the tournament. However, the report said that keeping in mind the experience, if Bumrah is not available, then Siraj can be made a part of the team.
