Popular actor, producer and director Rakesh Roshan is in the news these days for his documentary series The Roshans. The Roshans is released on Netflix on January 17. During the promotion of this series, Rakesh Roshan has narrated the incident when a drunkard started abusing him while having dinner in a restaurant. During this time, Jeetendra was also with him, who handled the matter.
Recently, in an interview given to Netflix, Rakesh Roshan said, I remember Jeetendra and I were sitting in a restaurant. A man in front was very drunk. He was abusing us by name in front of us. I was getting very angry as to why he was saying this to us. So I told Jeetu (Jeetendra) that we should tell him.
In response to this, Jeetendra said, keep quiet. let’s go out. We do not know him, but he knows us. That’s why we are a soft target. Rakesh Roshan has told that he left from there after Jeetendra convinced him.
During the conversation, Rakesh Roshan also talked about leaving acting and making a career in direction. Many of Rakesh Roshan’s films were flops in the 80s. After this, he started his career as a producer with the 1980 film Aap Ke Deewane. The next film of his production was Kaamchor, which was a hit. Along with producing the film, he also played the lead role with Jaya Prada.
After this, the films of his production also started flopping. In such a situation, he started a new innings of his career as a director with 1987’s Khudgarz.
On this he said, the actors who were with me at that time had disappeared. But I kept going. Used to play villain roles, used to do small roles. This is how I got experience. Then I became a producer, but I was not successful in that also. The film Kaamchor was very successful, but I was not successful in that also. There also Jaya Prada went ahead, I remained there. Then I thought that I would become a director. When I was a producer, we used to discuss the screenplay. At that time my imagination was different.
