The central government has approved three new airlines. Competition in India’s civil aviation sector may soon increase with the arrival of these companies seeking entry into aviation services under the names Shankha Air, Al-Hind Air and Fly Express. Actually, if we talk about the present time, there are mainly two airlines in competition in India. One of these is IndiGo, which already controls 50 percent of India’s flight operations. At the same time, another name is Air India, which is rapidly making its place in the domestic market along with international flights.
Apart from these two big companies, SpiceJet, Akasa, Alliance Air hold some space in the domestic market of India. However, due to some operational problems, at present India’s aviation services are dependent on IndiGo and Air India only. One effect of this was seen recently after the cancellation of Indigo flights, when thousands of passengers were stranded everywhere. In such a situation, the government has now made preparations to increase competition in the domestic airspace. Due to this, approval has also been given to three airline companies. Now, after the necessary inspection and standards verification by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, these airlines can soon be seen in the skies of India.
