Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to stay the release of web series ‘UP 77’. This series is reportedly based on the life of gangster Vikas Dubey. The gangster’s wife had reached court against this web series. Now a new update has come out in this matter.
Court refused to stay the release
Justice Sachin Dutta was hearing the petition filed by Richa, wife of gangster Vikas Dubey. He said in the court, ‘Do not want to interfere in the release of the web series at this stage.’ Let us tell you that ‘UP 77’ will stream on Waves OTT on Thursday. The court recorded the statement of the producers of the web series. In which he has said that the story of the series is completely fictional. It has nothing to do with the real life story of any person. The court asked the producers to address the concerns of the petitioner. Also asked to issue an undertaking or public statement in this regard. The court further said, ‘An affidavit in this regard should be filed within two weeks.

Next hearing will be on January 7
The next hearing of the case has been fixed for January 7, 2026. Apart from this, the court also directed that Vikas Dubey’s name should not be there in any promotional material related to the series. Also a disclaimer should also be added that this has nothing to do with Vikas Dubey. Let us tell you that gangster Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter by Uttar Pradesh Police in 2020.
